Alonzo Junior
Douglas
Aug 24, 1965 — Oct 14, 2026
Alonzo Junior Douglas, born August 24, 1965, in Cincinnati, Ohio, peacefully answered the Lord’s call at home on October 14, 2026. He will be remembered as a man of deep faith, vibrant presence, and enduring love for his family and community.
Alonzo accepted Christ at an early age and attended Maranatha Seventh-day Adventist Church, where his spiritual foundation began. That faith remained an important part of his life and helped shape the way he cared for others, especially the young people he encouraged throughout the years.
A graduate of Mt. Healthy High School, Class of 1983, Alonzo went on to attend the University of Cincinnati. He also served his country in the United States Army, earning two honorable discharges. His military service was among the accomplishments he held with pride, reflecting his commitment, discipline, and sense of purpose.
Alonzo devoted meaningful energy to uplifting others. In 2006, he helped launch the GEAR UP program, an effort that reflected his passion for opening doors for young people. Through mentoring, literacy support, and preparation for employment and future opportunities, he made a lasting impact on many lives. He was devoted to family and equally passionate about helping young people recognize their potential, and that commitment became one of the defining features of his life.
He was a man with a big personality, a gift for gab, and a memorable sense of humor. He was known for his energy, laughter, conversation, and his ability to make people smile. Alonzo loved sharing stories and laughter with his children and family, and his signature phrase, “COME ONNNNN!”, will remain unforgettable to all who knew him. He was known for making an entrance and leaving a lasting impression wherever he went.
Alonzo also enjoyed the pleasures that reflected his personal style. He enjoyed driving his nice cars, loved looking stylish, and always appreciated stepping out in style. These touches were part of the confidence and spirit that made him so recognizable and so warmly remembered.
He leaves to cherish his memory his siblings, Kim Douglas, Cheryl Douglas-England, and Michael Douglas; his children, De’Ambros, Lakeisha, and Trayvon; and his grandchildren, Kareena, Karlie, and Kaydan. In each of these relationships, Alonzo’s love of laughter, conversation, and family connection was deeply felt, and his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parent, Betty Douglas, and by Wary Copeland.
A memorial service will be held on October 24, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Kemp Event Center, 4909 Paddock Rd, Cincinnati, Ohio 45237.
Alonzo Junior Douglas will be remembered for his faith, his service, his unmistakable presence, and the encouragement he gave so freely to others. His life leaves a lasting impression, and his memory will continue to bring smiles, stories, and love to all who carry him in their hearts.
